Built by hand, one step at a time
KURA was started by owner Masaki Tonozuka with a single wish: to build a truly delicious restaurant with his own two hands.
From choosing the wood for the interior to hand-lettering the sign, designing the menus, and preparing every dish — he has built it all himself.
In an age where it's easy to buy convenience, KURA has always chosen to stay handmade.

Loved by the people of Fujinomiya
There's one reason KURA has lasted this long: the local community has supported it.
Regulars who stop by after work. Families who come to eat together. Guests who travel from far away just for our yakitori.
Their simple words — "I'll come again" — are what have kept this restaurant going. KURA is a restaurant raised by the people of Fujinomiya.

From the farm to the table
The owner himself grows vegetables on farmland in Yamamiya, Mannowara, Shibakawa, and Kitayama.
Cucumbers and daikon harvested in the morning appear on the table that same night. Very few restaurants create this "farm to table" flow with their own hands.
Vegetables grown in local soil, served to local people — KURA's food carries the taste of Fujinomiya's earth and water.

KURA, going forward
Because we've built this restaurant by hand, we'll keep doing things carefully and honestly, just as we always have.
A restaurant loved by the people of Fujinomiya — and one that first-time visitors will want to come back to.
KURA will keep serving great yakitori and great vegetables.
